The Vass Theatre Group in conjunction with Vass Productions and Aleksandar Vass OAM welcomes you to join us in the Melbourne Fringe Festival at The Alex Theatre in 2020! (cue fireworks!)
From 12th – 29th November, we will open our doors to all styles of performance from cabaret, stretching far over to the immersive theatre, and everything in between.
We welcome artists from across Australia as well as overseas.
If centre stage tickles your fancy, or it’s a desire to pull the proverbial curtain strings, our expressions of interest are now open for all of those who love to entertain.

Once your Expression of Interest is received, our Arts Board in Vass Productions will review and respond with an offer. If you then accept our offer a formal agreement will be drafted and agreed upon.

Although we have a standard rate card for the Alex Theatre, during the Melbourne Fringe Festival, we have the ability to discuss costs in order to best showcase your performance. The price will vary according to your specific venue needs, as well as the return on the door you desire. The Vass Theatre Group aims to support emerging and seasoned artists as much as possible to generate performances that exhilarate, entertain, and capture the imagination of audiences.

THE SPACES AVAILABLE
Alex Theatre – 135 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda
Theatre 1 (RED Room): 499 seats.
Theatre 2 (BLUE Room): 291 seats.
The Studio (GOLD Room – a BLACK Box Studio, with flat floor): a more intimate space with own private
Bar.
BOARDROOM: 10 seats and large dining table.
FOYER: a memorable and unique Entrance with spectacular award-winning imagery.
BOUTIQUE BAR and PRIVATE LOUNGE: plush décor and furnishings, antiques and a grand piano with large windows overlooking tree-lined Fitzroy street.

Yes, Staff: we provide full FOH, ushering and Bar Staff
Technical equipment: Varies depending on the theatre. Performers in the Studio and Lounge or Boardroom may need to supply own or Vass can outsource. Any cost will be negotiated and included in your agreement.
Any public event will require you to have public liability insurance for $10 million. You will need to present the insurance certificate to The Alex Theatre St. Kilda in advance of the event.
The Alex Theatre St. Kilda does not provide security for your project or your equipment. Depending on the type, time and expected attendance at your event, this might be something you need to factor in.
Only food and alcohol sold from The Alex Theatre bar is allowed to be taken into the venue.
Tickets can be purchased at the door at the box office.

Funds are held in trust until the end of the production run and will be reconciled inline with the ticketing agreements with Ticketek and the Melbourne Fringe Festival which from part of your venue hire agreement.
Can I manage my own Ticketing?
No, the Vass Theatre Group has a partner in Ticketek and the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Yes, for patrons, there is a lift at the entrance street level and seating for disability can be arranged with prior notice.
Please note, Dressing room and stage access in Theatre 1 and Theatre 2 do not cater for disabled access for performers.
