Alex Theatre St Kilda is the ideal venue to present workshops, host auditions and/or run rehearsals for theatre, musicals, dance works & other performance based events.
Our 11mx15m studio boasts a fully sprung floor, a wall of mirrors and upright piano.
To give some practical examples:
the foyers are ideally used to sign in audition candidates & simultaneously provide a spacious holding area for them;
the black box studio is perfect for dance calls whilst both theatres offer generous stage space for vocal calls.
For rehearsals, the black box studio is increasingly in demand for full company work, dance, and workshops. Both theatres can be used for choral rehearsals or small scene work, and our “hall of mirrors” can be used as wardrobe facilities.
Located just 15mins from the CBD, the Alex Theatre St K has ample, nearby car park options and can also be accessed by 3 major tramlines. Couple that with an array of great local coffee haunts, copious casual & restaurant dining cuisines as well as a 7-day supermarket – all of which makes the Alex an irresistible arts hub!
